Hermeneutics I. II. & III.

The Hermeneutics I and Hermeneutics II courses are now available.
Hermeneutics III will be available later.

In this series of courses you will learn how to "rightly divide the word of truth."  You will use several textbooks and the complete series will be in three parts.  The Hermeneutics I. textbook is "Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth" by Dr. C. I. Scofield.  The Hermeneutics II. textbook is "The Golden Key" by Ben M. Bogard.  The Hermeneutics III. textbook is to be announced later.
    Prerequisites: You must successfully complete the First Year course, "The Bible," before you are allowed to take the Hermeneutics course for credit.  Also, you must successfully complete the Hermeneutics I. section to be eligible to take the Hermeneutics II. section and you must successfully complete the Hermeneutics II. section to be eligible to take the Hermeneutics III. section.   (1.5 credits each for sections I. and II.  Section III credits will be posted later.)

Required courses:  Hermeneutics I. & II. are required for all students.
                               Hermeneutics III. requirement will be announced later.

HERMENEUTICS I.

• Attendance:
  - Minimum attendance for the complete Hermeneutics I. course is 10 weeks.
  - Minimum attendance for each individual lesson in this course is 1 week.
  - Course is worth 1.5 credits.
  
• If you have not already done so, please submit a Begin Sign In Form to officially start your attendance for this course.
  
• Lesson tests:  You will return to this page at the end of each lesson to take the corresponding lesson test.
      If you fail a test you must restudy the textbook or your KJV, whichever is appropriate, and find the correct answer for every question you missed on the test.  You may then retake the test on or after the next day.  You may use the copy of the failed test that was sent to you, which has the correct answers in the right-hand column, to make sure you have found the correct answer but you must locate the answer in the textbook or your KJV Bible.
      Your minimum attendance for the next section starts the day after you pass the current section test.
  
  Caution: You will be asked if you have read, in your KJV, every scripture referenced- including those wholly or partially quoted in the textbook.  If a scripture is wholly or partially quoted but the actual Bible reference is not given, the student is expected to find the scripture in their KJV.  If you cannot answer "Yes" to the question asking if you have done this, you will fail the test.

  - Minimum attendance for each individual lesson in this course is 1 week.
  - Course is worth 1.5 credits.

• Video Lectures:
  Open the lessons below and follow along with the video lectures. 
  Video lecture links are below the lesson and test links.
  After completing the lectures, lessons, and tests, go to the Final Test which can be found below the Video Lectures.
  
• Lessons: When you are finished studying each lesson, click the red bar at the end of each lesson to return here to take the test.
  The video lectures will not cover everything in the textbook lessons.  However, you are required to read all of the textbook lessons listed below and then take all of the Lesson Tests, also listed below.

• Chart:  There is a chart at the end of the textbook.  You will be required to memorize the major portions of the chart and you will be tested over the content of the chart in Lesson X.  You will have to pass the chart test before you will be allowed to take your Final Test.  The Chart test will be closed book.  You may access the chart at any time by clicking HERE.
  

• Lesson tests:  You will return to this page at the end of each lesson to take the corresponding lesson test.
      Leave the lesson window open so you can use it for the following "open book" tests.

• NOTE:  The first lecture begins after the preliminary materials, title page, preface, Table of Contents, Introduction, Suggestions, etc., and begins on page 14.  Read that preliminary material and start the first video when you reach page 14.
      Many of the video lectures are a synopsis of or an expansion of the material in the textbook.  Additional material may also be included in the lectures.  Students are cautioned that they are required to go through all of the Textbook Lessons and Tests listed above even if the lecture videos do not cover all parts of the Textbook Lessons.

• Complete all textbook lessons and tests.  Then you may go on to submit your Finish Sign In Form and take the Final Test.
