HEBREWS

PROS EBRAIOUS
(pros Heb-rah'-yos)
(to the Hebrews)

Welcome to the Book of Hebrews class.

In this course you will study the book of Hebrews.  After a brief introduction addressing the historical arguments concerning date, authorship, to whom was it written, and canonicity, we will go on to examine the book and its teachings and comparisons concerning the New Covenant under Christ and the Old Covenant under the Mosaic Law.

INSTRUCTIONS

How to study: Follow along in the workbook and fill in the blanks while viewing the video.  To do this you must download and print a copy of the Hebrews Workbook in pdf  or save a copy of the Hebrews Workbook in Word.  Using the workbook in pdf you can view the workbook on your monitor and write your answers on a sheet of paper or using the workbook in Word you can fill in the blanks by erasing the blank lines and writing in your answers.  Look up all of the scripture references given.  Only those references that are complete with book, chapter, and verse (example- Heb 12:6-9) are required reading.  You are not required to look up and read those references that give only book and/or chapter (example- Ps ch. 21); however, your may look them up and read them if you choose to do so.  Also, you need to read the entire book of Hebrews in the KJV, following along in the Bible as you go through the verse by verse commentary in the workbook and on video.
The workbook is divided into eight sections. Not more than one section may be completed each week.  Even one lesson per week and a half would be reasonable (but not required).  Any particular video may or may not cover a complete section of the workbook or it may cover portions of more than one workbook section.  You can stop and start the video(s) as you go through the workbook sections.  Be sure to observe the attendance requirements for each lesson and for the course overall.
